Torsion
Musical pitch and linear frequency shift on one insert. Lock the sub. Stay in key. Keep the hats sharp. Morph between a fifth and metal.
A pitch shifter stays polite and still smears the hats.
A frequency shifter growls and moves the kick — and dumps you out of key.
Most “wide” modes vanish in mono.
Torsion is built so those are choices, not accidents.
What it is for
Morph
Pitch in semitones. Freq in Hertz. Morph blends them. Harmonics stay musical, or they don’t.
The sub stays put
Sub-Anchor and a Natural Low band keep the kick fundamental where you mixed it. Shift the body. Leave the sub.
It can stay in key
Diatonic tracks the incoming note and snaps the shift to a scale and interval. A fifth in C minor stays a note in C minor. One clear pitch — not a choir.
Hats still click
Perc profile, HPSS, and Transient boost send the attack around the smear and put the click back.
